Europea 92 S.p.A has been operating since 1989 nationally and internationally in the large infrastructure sector, led by Marciano Ricci together with his daughters Sabrina Ricci and Mirella Ricci. It joined our client base for the construction of a new hotel facility in Rivisondoli (AQ), with the demolition and reconstruction of the former Hotel Como, one of the symbols of mountain tourism in Abruzzo.
For this prestigious project too, MTR® System was chosen to ensure speed of execution, flush beams with large structural grids (spans of up to 10 metres) and the maximum architectural freedom in the design of the interior spaces.
Not only that. Among the requirements for this new building was also the need to employ the best green building techniques, in compliance with CAM requirements, and the most modern anti-seismic technologies.
We interviewed Sabrina Ricci, director of Europea 94 S.p.A., to tell us more about her choice.

- Why did you choose MTR® System? What led you to choose it?
“The possibility of increasing the structural grid, together with that of speeding up construction site operations wherever possible, led to the decision to use prefabricated metal beams. The resulting market survey carried out for this purpose indicated that Metal.Ri was able to offer the necessary expertise and experience.”

-
- What advantages have you found from your experience with MTR® System?
“From a product perspective, greater reliability regarding the required characteristics, as the beams, manufactured from structural steelwork with origin and quality certification, are composed of individual components assembled in the workshop using continuous wire welding in accordance with industry standards, each identified by a production record sheet.
From a functional perspective, an increase in the structural grid maintaining the same geometry and loads (greater spans), with the possibility of obtaining flush beams having a single soffit plane of the floor slab (for service run routing, etc.).”
- What advantages have you found from your experience with MTR® System?
-
- What added value has MTR® System brought to your construction sites?
“First and foremost, the safety factor, whereby workers are not required to be exposed for long periods to work at height for the assembly of beam reinforcement.
Then the self-supporting MTR® A elements (steel lattice with steel bottom plate) which made it possible to reduce temporary support and formwork structures and simplified the placement of prefabricated elements (predalles), reducing execution times and optimising the cost/benefit ratio.”
