Metal.Ri operates in support of sustainability in construction using systems and solutions green with which it manages to limit the damage and threats posed by this sector, recognised as one of those with the greatest environmental impact, demonstrating careful consideration for the ecological transition.
Thanks to the use of solutions adhering to the CAM sustainability criteria (Criteri Ambientali Minimi), Metal.Ri reaches a new milestone by obtaining the ReMade in Italy product certification, under ACCREDIA accreditation.
The audit, carried out by the Certification Body, involved not only the analysis of the required documentation but also a company visit, and the inspection of materials, products and the entire production process.
Sustainable characteristics of ReMade in Italy
The certification attests the recycled content in a product and is valid for any material and also for multi-component products.
Furthermore, ReMade in Italy, also valid abroad, issues to all certified products as circular economy products a label showing the percentage of recovered material and the environmental benefits linked to not consuming non-renewable resources: CO2 savings and energy savings.
The label shows relevant data, such as:
- product name and ACCREDIA logo;
- ReMade in Italy® logo and the material/product certification code;
- percentage of recycled material and category of membership.
How is the ReMade in Italy certification obtained?
The complexity of the procedure requires a significant commitment from the company seeking to obtain it. As a first step, according to the certification scheme, the company must:
- draw up a material traceability plan and of flows within the production process in compliance with the rules contained in the RMI Technical Specifications;
- carry out continuous monitoring of suppliers;
- classify incoming materials;
- ensure maximum transparency in documentation by proving the correctness of the steps and the care taken in the process to also offer the final consumer (public or private) guarantees on the share of product derived from material recovery;
- comply with CAM for the awarding of design services and works for new construction, renovation and maintenance of public buildings (Ministerial Decree of 11 January 2017).
The recent CAM, issued by decree of the Ministry of the Environment, provide for the purchase of products with recycled material content, indicating the required technical specifications and the ReMade in Italy certification as means of proof.
For each product type, the commercial name, the category of membership and the relative recycled material and/or by-product content have been verified and certified, as follows:
