With the MTR® System, time is no longer a constraint but rather an added value. The products of the system we recommend for the construction of a residential building are the MTR® A and MTR® T beams.
Thanks to the self-supporting nature of the MTR® A beam, construction times are halved, as formwork and shoring are completely eliminated and column cross-sections are reduced. Choosing the MTR® T beam also reduces construction times, even though it is not self-supporting and requires formwork, since it is always a prefabricated beam and thus on-site rebar assembly at height is eliminated.
For floors used as parking areas and commercial premises, the exclusive use of MTR® T beams is recommended, as they guarantee REI fire protection thanks to the thickness of the predalles slab on which they rest. In the upper floors, it is then possible to continue with MTR® T or MTR® A beams, both recommended for interior environments, guaranteeing a flush floor-slab finish.
For exposed parts, such as balconies, the MTR® T beam is the optimal solution. It is completely embedded in the concrete, so the steel parts that could be subject to the corrosive effects of atmospheric agents are eliminated. Furthermore, in 95% of cases the MTR® T beam is flush with the floor slab, avoiding soffits that create formwork costs and thermal bridges.
The mixed solution is the most recommended choice: that is, the use of MTR® A beams for internal floor slab sections and the perimeter, and MTR® T beams for balconies.
Safety is another extremely important factor for our products: the beam-column joint is constructed as a fixed connection, thereby guaranteeing maximum reliability and seismic safety and allowing the cross-sections of beams and columns to be reduced.
