Batimat Paris 2022: Themes and Programme
The French building trade fair takes place every two years in Paris at the Expo Porte de Versailles, also in digital format, and brings together approximately 250,000 industry professionals.
Each edition revolves around new themes and challenges related to the building industry and architecture. This year’s edition is a special one that places at the forefront major challenges for the construction world, linked both to environmental impact, energy efficiency and green building, and to difficulties in sourcing raw materials, rising prices and long delivery times.
The four trends of Batimat Paris 2022, grouped under the overarching theme “Horizon 2030: A World to Build“, are:
- Preserving the environment: the fight against global warming and tragic climate events oblige us to take on our responsibilities. The entire construction chain must take note and study solutions to curb the environmental impact of the built environment.
- Living well in cities in 2050: 70% of the world’s population will live in cities in less than 30 years. How will they be structured and organised? How will our way of living change?
- Green transformation: modernising the methods of the construction sector, digitalising them, safeguarding the economic model, improving productivity.
- Promoting the professions: the construction and trades world must also adopt new tools, data and artificial intelligence to adapt to the digital age.
These are the key points around which the four days of the Batimat Paris 2022 fair will revolve, between conferences, workshops and meetings.
