6th National Conference: “Italian Bridges and Tunnels of the PNRR”

Metal.Ri among the official event sponsors

SI&A Scuola Ingegneria & Architettura, sponsored by the Consiglio Superiore dei Lavori Pubblici and Ance Nazionale, is a non-profit organisation established as an implementing body for updating and educational initiatives promoted by professional associations, operating in harmony with Contractors, Companies, and Technical Offices, both public and private.
SI&A aims to act as a bridge between, on the one hand, the system of education and training in scientific and cultural knowledge and skills, which offers formal learning and certifies it through the award of academic qualifications (universities and, more broadly, state-recognised institutions), and, on the other hand, the world of work, Contractors, and the ‘market’ in general, which demands Technicians better prepared for immediate deployment in the field.
The School therefore aims to contribute to restoring a culture of cooperation among different professionals engaged in a shared initiative.

SI&A holds an annual National Conference in Bari on current technical topics related to the construction sector.

The conference

The 4th National Conference held on 4/12/2017 in Bari, entitled “Not only earthquakes are responsible for collapses”, attracted around 1,800 industry Technicians and Professionals, and similar massive participation was recorded at the last pre-Covid edition on 28/3/2019, held in Bari on the topic “Sismabonus – Relaunching the construction world. Regenerating the outskirts”, again with contributions from figures in the political, technical and academic spheres.

After the forced pause due to Covid, the National Conference 2023 will focus on the theme of major road infrastructure, also in the light of the Bridge Guidelines and Tunnel Guidelines, and the Government funding earmarked for the related infrastructure rehabilitation of over 1 billion euros.
The event aims to provide a concrete and effective forum for discussion, structured around three sessions:

  • the General Assembly, which will feature contributions from the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Hon. Matteo Salvini, the President of Ance Nazionale Federica Brancaccio, the President Eng. Massimo Sessa of the Consiglio Superiore dei Lavori Pubblici, and the CEOs of Anas and F.S. italiane;
  • the second session dedicated to technical and academic in-depth discussions;
  • the third session dedicated to a Round Table of the highest profile, coordinated by the PNRR Committee Chairman Prof. Eng. Andrea Ferrante CSLLPP, who is also the Chairman of the Conference’s Scientific Committee.

Attendance at the conference will award CFP credits for Engineers, Architects and PPCs, Geologists, Surveyors and Lawyers. Registration is free but required.

We at Metal.Ri are thrilled to be present as an official sponsor of the event, alongside other leading companies in the sector, to promote this unique opportunity for in-depth discussion and exchange!

Why choose MTR® System for the construction of bridges and overpasses

Building a suspended structure such as pedestrian, road and railway bridges is among the most complex construction tasks.
MTR® System simplifies its execution, representing a valid alternative to traditional construction systems.
For the construction of bridges and overpasses, MTR® A or MTR® C beams are recommended.
Their lower flanges — steel for the MTR® A and concrete for the MTR® C — ensure self-supporting capacity, a very important advantage for this type of structure.
The use of Corten steel for MTR® A beams guarantees long-term durability, countering the effects of atmospheric phenomena and external agents.
This demonstrates how MTR® System technology is the ideal solution for any construction requirement, not only in the residential sector but also in infrastructure.
