MTR® T beam
Light prefabrication for traditional construction systems
Requires formwork and shoring during deck assembly and casting, without bottom plate and completely embedded in cast-in-place concrete
The MTR® T Beam is a composite steel-concrete solution that replaces the classical reinforcing bar to be assembled on site, while offering the advantages of light prefabrication. It consists of two or more structural steel lattice trusses assembled together.
MTR® T beams are not self-supporting and they must be laid on formwork or on the slab of a predalles panel. However, they do allow the construction of slab-depth beams in cases where conventional reinforced concrete would not.
MTR® T Beams can be combined with any type of slab and vertical structure and can be used in the construction of any building where self-supporting performance is not required.

Types
The MTR® T beam can be manufactured in different configurations to ensure maximum design flexibility:
Support Systems and Structural Connections
The MTR® System is supported by vertical load-bearing elements, including columns and shear walls, through custom-designed support systems that are welded to the beam ends. These are engineered to withstand Phase 1 loads and to avoid interference with starter bars. Connections between MTR® System elements and adjacent structural elements, such as continuous beams, columns and shear walls, are achieved through structural joints using B450C reinforcing steel.
Support on columns
The MTR® beams are supported on masonry or columns by dedicated end support systems.
Steel reinforcement
The MTR® beams are delivered to site complete with continuity reinforcement for joints, made of B450C reinforcing steel.
