Environmental Certifications and GPP (Green Public Procurement)
“ReMade in Italy® certified products are widely recognised as being at the forefront of the circular economy, offering unparalleled reliability, traceability and innovation.”
ReMade in Italy is a certified ecolabel that guarantees the recycled and by-product content of a material or product, including multi-material products. The scheme is in accordance with the Italian Public Procurement Code and the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM).
The Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) define environmental requirements for the various stages of the public procurement process. Their aim is to ascertain the optimal design solution, product or service from a life-cycle environmental standpoint, while taking into account market availability. It is mandatory for Public Administrations to use this application.
ReMade in Italy® is an accredited certification scheme (accredited by ACCREDIA) for verifying the recycled and by-product content in materials, semi-finished goods or finished products across all sectors, including those composed of multiple materials, as stated in the CAM issued by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition.
The ReMade in Italy® Certification Scheme
The ReMade in Italy® environmental product certification enables companies to transparently disclose the recycled or by-product content in their materials, semi-finished goods or finished products, regardless of their supply chain type.
The certification scheme requires the company to implement a traceability plan for materials and production flows, continuous supplier monitoring and classification of incoming raw materials. The certification body’s verification process involves a thorough review of all relevant documentation, as well as on-site inspections of materials, products and production processes.
For these reasons, products certified under the ReMade in Italy® scheme demonstrate the manufacturer’s commitment to managing materials derived from waste or by-products.
ReMade in Italy® certification is independent and accredited: the certification bodies, that issue it, are accredited entities independent from the Association that owns the standard, ensuring the highest level of impartiality and objectivity.
